Bill,
Condolences on the Baby Burner. Love reading your stuff though. Keep
it up.
Have you considered a lightweight drop down sled (hinged in front) with the
motor on the vertical rear? Motor with bridle could be removed with the
Afterburner's boom as a crane and stashed on support boat for the race.
Choppy seas would cause problems though maybe. Maybe some kind of Quick
Disconnect on the OB mount would help? We have a drop down sled for the
Honda 25 on our beach cat but the motor stays there on the sled. A couple
of blocks on either side the rear of the sled raise and lower it from the
cockpit. Sled is made of welded aluminum and could double as a fuel tank
for the motor but has never been used that way by us. Email me off list
for photos.
Good Luck! Cheers! John Matthiesen, Sugaree Too www.lynx at olympus.net
