Yes I read that, but from memory the cogito wing was fairly  
evolutionary.  Was it not the total package that got them there ?

As for a proa not being maneuverable enough for match racing I don;t  
think we will be seeing too many fancy tricks from giant cats or tris.  
At this size they aren't going to spin around much. The dialup will be  
to take aim from a good distance back and charge forward. Could all be  
quite dull ...... unless there is contact (ooooh nasty)

Personally I reckon the guy with the most sail will win, but  
controlling the most sail without powered winches -> balanced rig.

Or a kite. How about a giant kite ballistically launched from the  
masthead for downwind ? The technology works for light aircraft. You  
could cut it away at the leeward mark. ..... or perhaps not :-)
