I don't have a Yamaha, so can't help with that part, but I think  
flingflanging is nowhere near a strong enough word for your problem.  
Remove small children and other sensitive people from the immediate  
area, or use earplugs for them, and try much stronger words.

I've also found that a simple credit card inserted in the hand of a  
mechanic will do the trick, but there are problems associated with  
that approach as well, and it is not the advice you are seeking. Good
