Everything is a compromise Kerry, and as I was dragging my bum, I am sure
that the flat bottom aft, which will before glassing, be a gentle
transition, has to improve things. I might even, have some hull in the
water, forward of the center of buoyancy, when attempting to tack, if all
goes to plan. Also motoring, the stern sucked down something dreadful. Other
than adding several feet aft, I had to go deep and square. Due to pressure
of work over winter, I have not been able to make as much progress as I
would have liked, so it will be finished off rather rough, as an experiment,
the original hulls are still intact. I will have a summer of use and use the
new floatation and see how we go. There was never a problem sailing in a
decent wind, as the downward force on the mast leveled it out, but tacking
was real difficult. It does look though, as I need to take out my curved
exit, so I will fill in the curve and make a transom to the top of the
boarding step.
Thanks for your imput, say hello, if you are in Stillwater, when I am
working over the next few weeks, Colin
