Looks like a well thought out design.

I wonder if the air foil shape of the masts are not going to get the
cat moving around to much when at anchor? With a stiff breeze she
may be difficult on a mooring. Would not a round section masts be
better for this (and lighter) and then have the sail give it the
aerodynamics that one is looking for. Kind of like Radical Bay, or
the hydrofoil Spitfire.
Of course if there was an easy way of taking off the booms/sails,
then i would guess the masts could rotate with the wind and have
little drag, or is there just to much friction in the system for it
to rotate itself?
Good looking design.
Any way the owner could be convinced to join us for information on
his cat?

I am looking at having the booms mounted independently from the masts, with
a deck mounted bearing system around the mast "collar". The problem you
mention at anchor could maube be fixed by adding a
"short tail-fin" that would rotate the mast into the wind. Maybe 3 pieces
of heavy sailcloth that mount on the mast-track, that have a couple of
battens sewn in one of the pieces, so that they form an equilateral
triangle when velcroed together??

Any ideas/experince out there?

Alan
