[MHml] proven designs

The safest thing anyone can do is to find a well tested and proven design already in service, as close to their own application as
possible. And measure it's real performance, real reliability, and real cost. Best is when the guy you are buying "it" from has
done ones like yours multiple times before. As you deviate from this ideal your risks go up exponentially. "Early adopters" do so
for the love of being among the first, of being different, and must enjoy the risks. Bi-plane rigs on 45' cruising cats may fall
into this category. But the DynaRig is really out there, as there is only one in the world and it's not on a 45' catamaran. And
who would design and build one for you anyway? At least with the bi-plane there are designers like Schionning who are putting them
on cruising cats. And boats like Flying Carpet, a biplane cruising cat using a double surface main sail (Multihulls did a big issue
on them once.)
God bless all those who try new things. The rest of us can learn for free. :-)
Good luck and keep us posted.
