Brian replied:
I didn't chose to make this comparision at first. If you look back a few
threads you will find I was responding to an inquiry from an interested party
that demoted the DynaRig and my mast-aft concept in favor of the BiPlane rig.
That's how the subject came up.
I'm not contenting that 'since the biplane is not, that the square rig is
suitable'. I am contending that the good old square rig concept has a lot of
merit in a cruising design (as does the junk rig, etc). The DynaRig just
happens to be a modern reincarnation of the square rig. So if I was looking
for an alternative to the sloop Marconi rig for my cruising boat, why not
consider all out there? and the Dynarig should be on that list to be
considered. And the KiteSail.

Brian replied:
There were certainly those fair number of nay-sayers about the Falcon project.
Its fun to see them eat crow.
I guess we just have to wait for more reports, but it sure seems to be going
rather well for the moment. Ultra conservative America is always slow to
embrace new ideas in sailing.
