[MHml] wire rope splice

I'm looking for a rigger who will splice 7/19 wire to spectra. The twist is that's it's old wire and new spectra.

My main halyard is 50' of 10mm galvanized 7x19 wire spliced to 90' of 12mm spectra double braid. Only the wire takes full load and
only on one of 4, .75" diameter x 2" long swaged slugs. I have several riggers quoting on new halyards, but judging from the
slowness of their response, .75 dia. swaged slugs don't seem common on wire. The unswaged slugs are available in NZ pre-machined.
I wouldn't mind recommendations for a rigger who will make a new halyard in case the current ones don't come thru.

But my primary question goes to an old halyard that a rigger cut the spectra tail off of while measuring, years ago, god knows why.
So I've had a perfectly good wire portion laying around for years. If I can get someone to splice a new spectra tail on, I'll have
a good spare halyard. In better shape than the one I'm currently sailing with. But no one around here wants to work with old wire.

Any recommendations?

I have the instructions in Toss' Riggers Apprentice book, but it doesn't look easy.
