ZS jammer - as a remote
remove lock (essencial) and add light line to pull open - bolt into mast near as possibele mast head#
weight - not as bad when you allow that you can strip off the cover and you build the mast lighetr as you have redeuced mast compression

lock - there are a whole variety of mast locks. the neatest have a 'default' off mechanism ie you have a tripping line to activate it, if line fails the lock opens (and sail falls down)

definitly would never use a beach cat style hook on a bigger boat

Dan,
Henry is asking how Ross's remote actuated Spinlock mast head jammer works. Not how a Nacra lock or even my Chris Mitchell mast
head locks work.

In real life or concept?

In concept it hooks on the top of the mast. Requires a small bit of bend
in the mast to get the hook to release.

In real life a fully loaded mast may not give enough to get the thing
down... I'm being a bit harsh as may have used it for years without problem.

All the beach cats offer this as an option so go to you local dealer and
they can show you.
