XL2 has transom platforms and on the port side a boatding ladder which
swings down to give secure access (the ladder does not move when down)
to 3 rungs below the water. The ladder is secured 'up' by rope and is
accessible from the water if you forget to put it 'down' before entering
the water (or falling overboard). We have used the system with full
scuba gear including tanks ans weights and we are neither young nor fit.
We do need to remove the dive fins before climbing the ladder.
