[MHml] Rob Denny's 400 Ft Proa?

Does anyone know what Brossard is? A company, person? I am referring to the 60 Trimaran in the "Everybody" video. I don't know if I am the only one, but that video was the most inspiring kick *ss sailing video I have ever seen. If the average bloke doesn't get excited about sailing after watching that, they should just go and get embalmed. They're all ready dead and don't know it. I have watched it more than 40 times and each time I see something new and I get more fired up. I didn't see any white caps on the water, yet the one boat was going 31 knots. Is that possible?? Twice wind speed?

The editing was superb, the shots were impeccable, the song was perfect. The only thing better would be if it lasted seventeen times as long. Orange is so fr*ckin big, it is beyond my limited imagination. If I was sailing and saw that behemoth barreling down on me I would dive into shark infested waters in an effort to improve my odds. Talk about a Nacra 5.2 on roids. They guy kite surfing along side looked like a sand gnat. What the h*ll is next? Strap two Saturn V's together, bolt on the CN tower, re-cut the Metro Dome fabric for the main, the Denver airport roof for a Jib? Two hundred foot cat? Hundred meter Tri? How big can they get? Does anyone on the list know what the current thinking is for maximum size of a carbon multihull? Surely, there is a size where you don't go any faster because the thing gets too heavy, the materials can't hold together, you can't tack without a tug boat or you need a Sikorsky Skycrane to hoist the main. This the greatest age of sailing technological change we have ever seen. I can't help but wondering what's next. Is it me, or are the French kicking everybody's *ss in developing cool boats. Have they risen to dominate the world's oceans once again without firing a single shot? Sure seems so. We are over here making fatter and fatter monohulls, bigger and bigger roomarans and they seem to come out with something new and cool every week. Ian is designing the most practical, toughest boats you can build, but the French (yea my mother is from La Rochelle) seem to be on another level of imagination and willingness to try new things. Just some late night thoughts from somebody glad to live in this incredible age.

It looks like an F-boat folding system and dagger board.
