Tom,
I had a better experience with Vivid, but the Chesapeake is not as warm
or as salty as Florida. The boat was in the water about 1.5 years (2
seasons and the intervening winter). Like you, it was pretty amazing
the first season, and very little growth during the winter. I did have
to scrub it regularly the second season, and a noticeable cloud of
white paint would be churned into the water when I did.
Even in the second season, though, I noticed that there would be some
growth on the hull after sitting at the dock for a while, but if I went
daysailing and got the boat over 8-10 knots for a while, it would all
wash away.
I'm not wild about the paint, but I do like the white color. Are there
other hard bottom paints that come is light colors?
