Very sad news... Gary had Manoah in the same boat yard that we used for the
construction of Voodoo Spirit. The boat was very unusual to say the least.
Very small volume asymmetric floats (which where meant to give lift and
counteract the small volume) and very light rig components. Gary built her
new - but Manoah was from an old plan Gary found from the 1970's. She came
in overweight when first launched and required modifications to overcome
some problems. There was much debate in the yard as to her sea worthiness
but Gary was comfortable with her performance. I'm told he did have some
structural issues with the beams on arrival in NZ and I only assume that
these where addressed prior to there departure. I don't have a photo of her
after modifications where complete but I will try and track one down.
