YES - If you are intending to go long distance then I would highly  recommend 
a screecher. It is perfect for relaxed dead downwind use. It can  be used at 
night and is easily controlled by just one person. It also keeps you  going 
when the wind is light and others are using their engines although the  boat has 
to be light and sheeting angles tight to benefit.  
 
Our asymmetric spinnaker was retired when the screecher arrived and only  
bought out again recently when the screecher fell to pieces. I realised just how  
much input is required compared to the screecher.
