Bill,

- Fuel tank on AB to minimize weight on the wee cat?
- put the outboard in the water as deep as you can.  Forget the cav. plate position as it relates to transoms of planing hulls.  You're not planing with this hull.  
- Make a fairing (can be plywood or similar with screwed or glassed seams to protect the powerhead.  
- The cowling where it sits on the powerhead will often leak at the seam.  Duct tape it on.  
- Consider a snorkel tube from the back of the outboard (where the air intake is) to a higher position so you reduce the risk of it sucking in a wave.
