I had VC 17 on a boat we raced one summer in Annapolis on the Chesapeake
Bay. It was a nice smooth finish but couldn't keep the slime and algae
off the boat. I had to get in the water and scrub the bottom before
each race. It is a hard bottom paint, but by the end of the season I
don't think there was much of it left on the hull.
I would think that warmer and saltier St. Petersburg would be a lot
worse on the bottom than Annapolis.
