Here is another one -a 50 footer with a Fischer Panda generator.
See:

also. Engines weigh only 36 kgs each!
Or else here is a short explanation:
Engine
The catamaran is operated by a diesel-power engine. The perfectly enclosed
in a capsule diesel generator (noise level 48dB) is situated in a room
under the mast (the weight is where it is to be). This generator operates 2
powerful engines with a three-phase power located under the floor of the
stern hull. Weight of each element 36 Kg!
The priority of the diesel-power engine: almost noiseless engine sailing.
The generator is inside and outside it can be heard only of one
concentrates on that noise. Great efficiency of the engines due to the
considerable higher revolving moment. More power against the waives and the
wind! No transmissions - for that reason a non-stage and noiseless
transition to reverse motion!
A lack of engine vibrations (generator and electric engine) during the
voyage with started engine.
Multipurpose use - the electric unit is used for feeding the deck
(Watermaker, air-conditioner etc.).
A comparatively light engines in the delicate to load stern of the
catamaran - The weight of the generator (the main engine) is positioned in
the center of the boat. The generator runs always with optimal revolutions
- thus can be ensured prolonged lifetime and the saving of 40% of fuel
compared to the ordinary diesel engines. A safe future - in several years
the diesel generator may be substituted by an ecologically safe fuel cell!
The boat is also quite interesting with an A-Mast and forward cockpit, see:

Check out the information on a dieselelctric Leopard cat redently launched.
See:

There is also a 47 ft Crowther built in Chile with this system. The boat
name is Asanagi, just can't find his website with comments at
present.Initial info and block diagrams can be seen at:

This article explains things a little bit although I still do not
entirely "get it"

Of course these guys are selling a system. Then again Nigel Calder sold his
brand new boat to get the yard to build another exactly the same only with
the OSSA powerlite system so there might just be something worth checking
out
here
