Sheer size? Only length probably. A 60x60 tri is a deck area of 3600 sq. ft. A 70x35 (?) cat is only 2450 sq. ft. I'd argue the
tri is a bigger boat. The cat is the longer boat.

With the apparent success of the Volvo 40 cats and their in-harbour races one can see that there is perhaps a series that the
Formula 40 boats were too early to exploit. What puzzles me is the choice of 70 feet for the LOA., or do you think that it was
chosen to sort of overshadow the ORMA 60 tris on the basis of sheer size?????
Should be interesting either way. Once people get used to seeing highly professional races in large multis it might dawn on
them that the America's cup should be retired to the nautical elephants graveyard
