I don't know about "strength"  Hobie 18s always seemed heavily built.

It would need to float minimally.  But if the fuel weight was forward, and the outboard amidships, I'm thinking the rear cross beam
on Afterburner could be used to lift up the bows and support a big part of the weight while in use.   Like a front hinged sled.

we're talking about the equivalent of 6 250lb guys on a beach cat. there
aren't many (any?) which will stay afloat with this much weight on them,
nor be strong enough to last very long.
