Hi Peter,

Sounds logical, so there is no easy way around this,  other than having 
to calculate/guess righting moments, sail effiiciency, hull 
efficiency/shape/influences, or else get some tank tests done.

The other alternative is to do as Martin suggested, using the 
CFD/michelet software and work that way around, and finalise with a tank 
test.

Martin: Do you have any idea how I could import a Maxsurf or IGS file 
into Freeship? The manual doesn't offer any solution. I have my 
preliminary hullshape in these formats. I will ask the forum out there 
as well.
