Claas
you are probably right
an alterantive is to increase bow volume by raising the height (as per FX) of the bows so length remains the same - in theory we would get progressivly increased bow bouyanacy as the bow dips
- Ted and i have and continue to debate this
Currently, I and the team wish to get more to grips with the boat before we start hacking the bows off. we want to get more weight off her and out of the bow area, this along with with better sail control/sail shape we feel will get us some of the way.
in the meantime we have developed/adapted Harvey Bowen's righting mechanism from Orion to use on Charleston as we fully expect to use it this comming season.
The joy of sailing and then the flying through the air as the boat goes over...it is real fun
and it can't be that bad if Ted has bought the B boat to rekindle the experience :-)
Ross

Sounds like you would also benefit from a Rosebud mod. Ted seems to
indicate that bow stuffing is simply not a concern anymore. That would
make Rosebud a better boat than Charleston (and I just sold him a
pitchpole-limited B-boat... :-) But he knows...)
Cheers,
Claas
