One more dip into the past, espcially for our Australian friends. May June 1996, an article about a revolutionary design of spectacular performance, according to the designer Nick Parkyn., An 18foot, 5.5 metre cat with a wing mast and a stepped planeing hull which due to it's new design is better than the round bilge form on all points of sail.  He writes very well but I note that in actual comparisons he quotes proudly that it is faster than an F24, but the F 24 is not all that fast a boat, despite being bigger and a trimaran.

    So what happened to prevent this paragon from taking over the beach cat world?
