[MHml] Your best tips for an offshore jacket to keep the wetstuff out

A wise person once told me "How much would you pay during some really
foul weather to have a good set of rain gear that will keep the wet out?"

By that I mean buy the best you can afford. Musto and Henri Lloyd.
Maybe Gill. Boat shows often have good deals that vary from supplier or
chandler.

Look at each jacket for good details: hand warmer lined fleece pockets
that are removable to dry, good protection for your neck and chin that
actually does up enough to keep the water. Chunky zips that open at top
and bottom. Don't know if the 200 will get you into Goretex but if you
can spring for it, it's nice.

Don't buy dark colours - red or yellow make a lot more sense than blue,
green or purple if you ever fall overboard.
