A guy here in Oslo had biplane rig with freestanding masts and wishbone booms on his 33ft cat. 
He didn't like it and was very kind to write some comments why not, comments I posted to this list about half a year ago.
Last winter he rebuilt to a tall single carbon stick and an ordinary boom
He is very happy he did and would not dream of going back to a biplane rig again
But this was this guy and this boat.... (has been leader of Norwegian Multihull Club for some years, ended 3rd on CT in this years Færder race)
