We did something similar on our Prout Event 34 and it worked well.
We secured a line between the two bows. The outermost sections of this line
were in fact a becketed block. A block ran athwartships on this line,
controlled by lines running through the becketed block back to the cockpit. A
short strop from the block to the tack of the asym ended in a sister clip (G
clip) .
We did not need to gybe "outside" but we had a couple of feet between jib luff
and spi tack.
Ours was doused in a sock.
Worked well for us on a slow stable platform.
