[MHml] Toe in Hydraulic link

It's Saturday morning after a normal Friday night, so my head can't think. 
With hydraulic rams, connected with a hydraulic link, does this work the 
same as a cross bar that is shorter than the distance between the rudder 
hinges? i.e. you connect the rams to a slightly offset (inwards) tiller arm 
and you can still achieve the ackerman circle?

Sorry I am being lazy, but then I'm sure that others will be interested.
