Many thanks Andy, useful advise, I know now where to spend
Saturday night in my motorhome, how is the boat coming on?
Cheers Peter.

Guys, just a word of advice:
I went to the start of the RdR in 2002 with a rental car.
Before the start we got reasonably close to the boats (within 30m or so)
amongst the thronging crowds. But it was seriously busy. Absolutely mobbed.
So we set out early to get a vantage point on Cap Frehel (by the lighthouse
they have to head inland to go round a bouy). We set out with 4 hrs to spare
to go about 5km and never made it! The traffic was backed up and stoodstill
all along the coast roads.
What a frustration.
The only way to actually see them underway is by boat or bicycle. I would
hire some cycles and just mosey up amongst the traffic -that way you'll get
to see some action. Don't do it by car. BTW the coast itself was lined with
tents and motorhomes where people had been camping from the night before to
get a glimpse!
The town is lovely. There are lots of restaurants near the water we ate in a
couple of them and the food was fine.
Enjoy!
I'm off for brunch
