[MHml] slack suckers

My old dyform side stays have a hinge and SS loop about 5 feet off the
deck. We tie a line to this that runs forward to a block on the outside of
the main beam, around the block, over to the inside of the hull, around
another block and aft to some hefty bungie. My decks are crowned so the
line actually runs thru the hull beam slot. This pulls the side stay
forward at all times.

My new Precourt sidestays have a deadeye about 4' above the deck that I will
tie this line to.

So how did you rig an effective "slack sucker"? I have been trying to figure
this out and have attempted a number of options, but none seem to work too
well although they are better than nothing. I have essentially
2 stays coming to the same point that flop around and whack each other on
the leeward side. Sounds like a Star Wars movie when it is blowing pretty
well.
