[MHml] mast woes

No I hadn't.
But in looking them up, I see they are 316 SS, a weak alloy compared to the
stuff rod rigging is made out of.  My 70' lengths might be a bit much as
well. Still I do like the shape.

it's a bit late in the day Bill but did you check into the lenticular rod
used in light aircraft bracing. A failure in that would be truly
catastrophic. If it is nitrile, its elliptical cross section would permit
stronger rod to be used than circular without any increase in drag when used
on a rotating mast.
