It is in Mocra, It is in Texel, it is in RORC. Anyway you
were not talking rating, you were talking an actual speed increase.
Whether the rating adjustment will precisely offset that speed
increase is another question. Wing masts just are more efficient than
fixed, and it shows particularly on a reach when the side of the
fixed mast is sending lots of turbulence over the leeward side of the
sail. IMHO.

It is said that wind tunnel tests indicate that the forward
component of lift is greater in a wing masted sail that it is in a
fixed mast sail, so better to windward too.

But are we not always racing when sailing in the same
