I have priced a cruising version of an equivalent lw hull length going to 800kgs and it came to less than $A20000 for the basic materials, not counting winches , sails, outboard, dunnies, nav gear, ground tackle etc.
Polypropylene honeycomb core at $20 a m2 and glass at $12-18 m2 , resin at $10 m2 is less than $50 m2. I have 120m2 in the hulls before crossbeams. Make it about the equivalent of 35m2 for crossbeams. round it up to 200m2 is $A10000. 40kg of carbon in the masts and 25kg of resin another $5000 depending on price of carbon, rudders another $2000 and some extra for bits of reinforcing. I don't know what Rob gets his carbon for as it seems to change every week but his boat is half the surface area and half the loading. When he gets around to putting his latest up on his web site, hopefully he can give a breakdown of the materials and prices.
Robert
