[MHml] Proposal for additional online discussion (long)

Brad,

I don’t have any pictures up, (I am terribly behind in updating my web site)
but I came up with a clean solution.

At the bottom I have a section of U-shaped fiberglass maybe 3/16 thickness
and twice the width of the door to allow the door to slide on this over the
full length of travel.

I attached a small strip of UHMW (slippery but tough plastic) to the bottom
of the door to allow the door to slide easy.

To keep the door from falling out I have a 7/8´spacer above the door and
attached to that is a strip of 1x3 teak “keeper” that is easily removable to
allow removal of the door.

Since I have my instruments mounted outside in a box above the door it was
easy to through bolt the teak trim pieces without the bolts showing for a
stronger structure

Chris,

On the current topic.
I would hope we would get more and more technical. We tend to like to share
solutions to common problems, I am building a new cabin and love to find
pictures of interesting companionway slide systems on all the websights. I
am sure some of our rreaders have interesting solutions as well that only
pictures can reveal. Thanks for looking to get this started.

On another topic.
Thanks for the link to your video. Looks like you had a great time. So many
of us dream of a day with the big boys.
Someone should put together a list all the current OOPs boats with their new
name and their old/original names tro we can see our old favorites.
Was HiQ the old Groupama 1? I saw the old LaTrinitane on the film.

Thanks
Brad
