[MHml] Florida to Chesapeake Bay

Since I am such a novice, I hesitate to question Brian's thoughtful
comments. From what I've read (a dangerous position from which to draw
conclusions), it seems as thought the drogue is a great device, if one
has the room to run off with it. Hal Roth, while being a mono sailor,
is none the less a fully qualified deep water sailor (as well as being a
very good writer) and he strongly supports drogues. That said, does
this group know of much experience with drogues and multihulls? Therein
lies the best evidence.

I thought the current thinking as a result of a USCG test was that there
are better alternatives to the parachute anchor ???

Pick your weather carefully, and make sure you look at the fronts coming
across the east coast. You definitely want to avoid the Gulf Stream and
its
eddies in a northerly blown which can occur in the spring thunderstorm
season.

The good news is these spring time fronts don't last as long as the
winter
northerlies

And I would highly recommend a parachute anchor:

Parachute Anchors, Para-Anchor, Sea Anchor
