[MHml] radar transponders/ais

That was one of the reasons a device like the ARC was proposed in the other 
forum. The devices that the 'professionals' rely on work best when everyone 
else follows the rules (AIS, active radar, passive radar) A simple 
inexpensive device easily coupled to a standard VHF radio seemed (to us) 
like a good way of knowing who was out there, even if less than 300 gross 
etc.

Again, if anyone thinks the idea is worth persueing, I'll put you in touch 
with the person who has jury rigged a sample device.
