[MHml] Marina hopping - costs

My Tri is 28' wide and 2 years ago when I came up from the Keys (Texas
originally) to New England I was never charged more than the standard (mono)
footage charge per night although a few places grumbled. And if I stayed at
a location for more than a week, most marinas gave me a discount. Much of
the trip was offshore so I didn't stay in a large numbers of marinas as I
did the trip in multiple hops. Typically I was on a face dock so I did not
take up more room than any other 44' boat. Once place put me in a double
slip but simply charged me for a standard one. If you are flexible and as
Peter states, willing to state your case, I think you would find it unlikely
they will charge double.

My permanent storage location is a mooring (which is typical in the North
East), however, and I prefer it to a slip.

Glenn
