It was my wife who complained bitterly about this phenomenon. The low 
maintenance Lavac was duly replaced with a Jabsco, by the good lady herself 
who also conceded to do all future maintenance on said article. During the 
replacement she also learnt that all such operations should be performed with 
your mouth closed. Yuck.... I am of course very happy with the "maintenance 
free" Jabsco. Peter Nice
