[MHml] Foils and Evolution

The problem with Hydroptere is that she does not generate her own
righting moment therefore her maximum power is limited. The surface
piercing foils she uses are prone to ventilation and that leads to big
expensive crashes; in fact I thought she had crashed badly and was no
longer sailing... The Rave foiler is the model for the future  as is the
Dancer for smaller foilers( I hope!!)
  Fully submerged foils that develop all the RM for the boat are the way
to go in large multihull  foilers .  Sail Fast, Doug Lord /microsail.com
